Question by beccan: Polaroid PDC 3080?
Hi: I had a polaroid pdc 3080 digital camera that I’ve had about 5 months and that I was always able to upload the pictures into my computer.

I havent used it for awhile but decided to do so for Xmas. As always, it took wonderful pix but when I got home, I began to upload them into my computer as I always did before and I did what I always do, plugged into USB port and into camera. Only this time when the software pops up, it says:

“THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO PICTURES ON YOUR CAMERA” nor am I allowed the option to move forward.

But when I go in to check, the pictures are clearly there but wont upload. Can anyone tell me what might be happening? I went into the Polaroid site but it doesnt give me any info on what could be happening with my situation.

Okay, so I thought again about your camera trouble and thought that although I was trying to be helpfulI’ve probably just sent you to a website youre already aware of, soooo… I decided to dig a little deeper for you.

Again Ive never used a PDC3080 but here is what I found from digging up about your camera.

If you can see the photographs on the camera still, although you cant send them to your computer then there is likely to be either a malfunction with the driver, or the SD card your using. so heres what to do, first turn off the camera, take out the card and blow hard and fast on the connector end, re-insert the card into the camera and then try again, if that doesnt work, un-install the camera software and then re-install it (I know that seems tedious but might be what it needs)

It could also be something to do with your windows system being automatically updated but your camera software not being updated, so go onto your camera website and look for downloads, hopefully there may be a upgrade to your camera software?

And finally, if you cant see any photos on the camera as well as it saying you have no photos (so basically you have taken photos but its not got any on the camera now) what you need to do is format your SD card before every use (BUT!!! only do so AFTER you have uploaded them to your computer because this will wipe off any and all photos still on the card, so dont do this unless there are no photos on there that you havented already saved). Heres how to format your SD Card;

Turn the camera on in Playback mode and press the Menu (M/OK) button.

Using the directional arrow buttons, scroll down to Format and press the Menu (M/OK) button again.

(3)

Scroll to Yes and press the Menu (M/OK) button once more.

PLEASE REMEMBER:

Formatting the card will erase all the pictures currently have saved on it, so make sure you have transferred all the pictures you want to keep onto your computer before formatting.
